Q. Who are the Eastside Kickers?

A. Eastside Kickers is an all-girls premier soccer club.  Eastside Kickers is a regional district club selected by the Essex County Soccer Association (ECSA) Elite Player Development Program Committee (EPDPC) to representWindsor/Essex County at the regional (Level 3) and provincial (Level 1) levels.  Windsor F.C. Nationals is the equivalent club for boys.

Q. What is a district club?

A. Is a club selected by the district association to represent that district at regional and provincial level competitions.

Q. Who is eligible to play for Eastside Kickers?

A. Any female under the age of 18 is eligible to play.  Tryouts are held for each age group during the month of September.

Q. Where does Eastside Kickers compete?

A. Eastside Kickers compete in the Ontario Youth Soccer League (OYSL, Level 1), Western Ontario Youth Soccer League (WOYSL, Level 3/4) and Michigan Youth Soccer League (MYSL, up to under 11).

Q. What other clubs compete in these leagues?

A. Eastside Kickers is the only female club from Essex County able to compete in these leagues.  Eastside Kickers competes against teams from across Ontario in the OYSL, primarily playing teams between London and Toronto.  The WOYSLconsists of teams from London, Waterloo and Sarnia areas.

Q. How is Eastside Kickersdifferent from other clubs in Windsor?

A. All other clubs in Windsor compete in Level 5 local competitive competitions or lower.  Eastside Kickers is the District Club representing Windsor/Essex County at the regional and provincial levels.

Q. What does each level of play represent?

A.

  • Level 7 - recreational soccer leagues (also known as house leagues).  These leagues are managed by local soccer clubs (e.g. Tecumseh Soccer Club, LaSalle Stompers, Windsor Soccer Club, etc.)
  • Level 5 - local competitive league playing within Essex County (e.g. Windsor and District Soccer League).  Teams competing at this level include Caboto, Polonia, LaSalle Stompers, Tecumseh Soccer Club etc.
  • Level 3 – regional competitive leagues consisting of teams playing within one of the following regions West, East, North, South, Central (e.g. WOYSL).  The West region includes team from Essex, Elgin Middlesex, Lambton Kent and South West.
  • Level 1 – provincial competitive league consisting of the top teams from each of the regions listed above.
